WISHING YOU A FUN & SAFE HALLOWEEN 2016
The air is fresh, the leaves are crisp and we are all dressed up to go!
We are feeling a little nostalgic over here, dressing our kids up as throwback characters. I favor the cute - playful - dress up side of Halloween much more than the grungy - scary - bloody side.
There are so many creatives out there who are blowing my costumes out of the water ... but do know that I'm counting this little Ninja Turtle as a DIY for sure! haha...
Although the costume was clearly marked as a 12-18mo. IT WAS NOT! We had to make adjustments to the neck just to get this poor little guys head into the costume. Then once I squeezed his little arms into their proper place, thinking everything is looking good, the fabric didn't meet at the bottom to do the snaps! So we found the perfect color brown pants to match. And obviously the hat it came with would be too small... so we cut up an old IKEA curtain and made a head wrap to match his favorite Ninja Turtle - Michelangelo. Isn't his little Michelangelo buddy so perfect?! We just had a fun family night recently at Build - A - Bear and he loved it. So funny how even one year olds have opinions!
Hope you have the best Halloween with your family! Staying in - going out - whatever you're doing ... be safe & have a ball making those memories.
